Automotive Training Facilitator

Ardent Learning is a leader in the Automotive Industry and has been creating and delivering training for 30 years. We have partnered with the majority of manufacturers to provide sales, service, and technical training, as well as product launch and ride-and-drive events.

We're currently looking to add Automotive Facilitators/Consultants to our contractor network, for opportunities in instructor-led training (ILT) and virtual instructor-led training (vILT). Ideal candidates will be high-energy individuals with experience in performance coaching, the ability to identify unique dealership needs and then align those needs with KPIs — suggesting appropriate training based on that analysis.

In this contract role, you will:

  • Bring written material to life, either in-person or virtually; relating it to the intended audience
  • Align specific dealership department needs with the provided material to gain buy-in from managers
  • Read and analyze standard dealership documentation
  • Assess (and recommend improvement strategies) for automotive dealership processes and practices including development, deployment, and reporting of needs assessments and gap analyses
  • Recognize and leverage key elements within a variety of dealer tools, e.g., Reynolds and Reynolds and other DMS, scheduling tools, dealer performance tools, etc.
  • Read, interpret, and make training material content recommendations (and in-dealer consultation services) based upon JDP and proprietary customer satisfaction indicators
  • Assess and prescribe improvement strategies for field operations training materials
  • Assess internal (Ardent) workflow processes and recommend performance improvement initiatives
  • Utilize core communication skills (listing, probing, affirming and persuasion) to uncover key customer requirements and opportunities and to implement recommended solutions
  • Travel, as needed, for ILT programs

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of digital tools used for participant engagement: iPads, Fastfield, Flip
  • Ability to contract for time with busy individuals that may be difficult to gather for training
  • Strong group presentation skills, e.g., organization of materials, application of visual tools, basic presentations, board room discussions, etc.
  • Knowledge of standard practices, processes, and personnel positions at both the dealership and OEM/corporate levels
  • Understanding of industry-based customer satisfaction and product quality indicators, e.g., key elements, composition, cycles, etc.
  • General knowledge of adult learning theory and practice, e.g., instructional design, performance-based objectives, measurement, evaluation, etc.
  • General knowledge of technical tools and applications, e.g., mobile applications, web-based instruction, dealership tools such as Xtime online scheduling system, DealerLogix, etc.

Education & Experience

  • At least 3 – 5 years experience in an ILT and/or vILT training role
  • Experience at the automotive retail level a plus
