Summary Description:

The VP, Learning Solutions is responsible for continuously advancing Ardent’s ability to dream up and deliver innovative learning solutions that serve the needs of learners in various markets.  The VP, Learning Solutions is a pivital member of our Senior Leadership team and will have a significant impact on the company strategy and planning.  This role will have an immediate impact on virtually all aspects of Ardent’s business by steering the talent of our Centers of Excellence (Creative, Instructional Design, Technology Solutions, Facilitation, Subject Matter Expertise, Learning Architecture) and ensuring that Ardent’s solutions are fueled by industry trends, client demands and industry experience.  While this role has critical leadership responsibilities, our ideal candidate understands when and how to dive into the details to deliver hands on support for our Solutions team. 

In This Role You Will:

Solutions Innovation (30%)

  • Provide strategic direction, oversight, and insights in the design and development of learning solutions that results in sales
  • Create, prioritize, deliver and commercialize a solution roadmap that aligns with the demands and needs of the market
  • Directly or by leading through others, maintain ownership of the alignment of internal team decisions with the best approach for a custom fit learning solution for our clients – ensuring Ardent consistently puts forth learning solutions that deliver on the business outcomes and learner experiences desired by our clients
  • Lean on knowledge of proven best practices, tools and technology, and vendor landscape to research and evaluate options to drive Ardent’s overall solution strategy
  • Maintain a keen awareness of competitors and external thought leaders to ensure Ardent is relevant and in a position to disrupt the industry
  • Drive a culture of innovation for the Solutions team that allows for dreaming, exploration and testing that results in moving and meaningful solution innovation

Client Success (25%)

  • Serve as Ardent’s thought leader and Solutions mastermind through heavy client exploration, solutioning, proposal creation and industry events
  • At times, will craft L&D strategies that align with business needs and priorities
  • Be ready to partner with Ardent’s Sales, Solutions and Account Teams to scope Ardent client engagements, proposals, deliverables and recommendations
  • Harness the knowledge and capabilities of our Solutions and Sales teams to deliver exceptional learning solutions to the market
  • Bring a background of client experience that informs decision making and solutions
  • Dedicate time and effort into building meaningful working relationships with clients and prospects to understand their needs and motivations

Business Development (20%)

  • Support the Sales cycle as needed, contribute to Client calls, and influence the proposal process through strategic direction setting and support of Centers of Excellence
  • Proudly represent Ardent and its’ learning solutions to clients through active networking, speaking engagements, and external marketing efforts
  • Align with Business Development and Account teams to keep informed on account satisfaction and business opportunities, ensuring proper resourcing across the Centers of Excellence
  • Keep intune with the sales team, their experiences and our expanding pipeline to ensure that our learning solutions capabilities and sales activity are aligned

Leadership (25%)

  • Organize, lead, inspire and coach the Centers of Excellence to deliver high quality, evidenced based learning solutions that fit client and industry context
  • Maintain alignment with Senior Leadership by keeping the team informed with important and impactful Solution oriented information that empowers the team to make intelligent adjustments or investments that enhance the business
  • Other duties as assigned

 Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Communications or related field or equivalent years of work experience
  • 12+ years’ experience within the learning and development industry
  • 10+ years’ experience developing custom learning solutions for external clients
  • Demonstrated successful experience in relationship management across a range of external clients

  • A keen awareness for the modern learner, teaching environments and effective learning techniques
  • A team-oriented, cross functional and collaborative leader – able to lead members of both Ardent and Client teams
  • Ability to convert vision to strategy to implementation
  • Operate comfortably in a matrixed environment
  • Develop a quick understanding of client culture and teams
  • Balance a tactical and strategic mindset; being both a 'thinker' and a 'doer'
  • Theoretical and practical project management knowledge
  • An effective communicator with stakeholders at all levels of an organization
