Learning Experience Designer

Summary Description:

The Learning Experience Designer is a key member of our Solutions team and is responsible for designing client learning solutions and has varied levels of engagement with the entire lifecycle of the project, from the initial proposal stage through production and project close out. The Learning Experience Designer has experience as a consultative Instructional Designer who can rely on their project management skills to effectively solution and design projects.  Through a collaborative partnership with our Sales team, the Learning Experience Designer stays present and consultative throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the client needs are met and that we are designing comprehensive learning strategies that combine the appropriate learning tools, platforms, and content.  The Learning Experience Designer is able to create client learning solutions in an evolving, rapidly changing environment.  They will be skilled at not only architecting a solution, but be able to at times with incomplete information. At times, the Learning Experience Designer will collaborate with our Centers of Excellence (Creative, Facilitation, Instructional Developers, PMO, Technology) team to support the solutioning effort. 

In This Role You Will:

  • Be acutely aware of client needs by leading consultative conversations that result in a clear understanding of the learning objectives of our clients
  • Be able to leverage your knowledge of learning solutions and quickly turn around proposals that address client needs, while ensuring that Ardent is competitive in our offerings
  • Lean into your project management and instructional design background as needed to meet project goals
  • As needed, work closely with Ardent Sales and Solutions internal teams, client stakeholders and project sponsors to better understand organizational goals, priorities and key performance metrics of our clients
  • Lead Ardent’s pricing process by understanding the model and ensuring that our proposals reflect the level of effort needed to meet client expectations
  • Craft L&D strategies that align with client business needs and priorities
  • As needed, conduct Needs Assessment efforts with our clients in order to develop a custom fit learning roadmap focused on achieving business outcomes
  • Align internal team decisions with the best approach for a custom fit learning solution for our clients – ensuring Ardent consistently puts forth learning solutions that deliver on the business outcomes and learner experiences desired by our clients
  • Provide recommendations to clients that fuel discussions and build strong relationships built on trust
  • Supports Business Development by participating in capability and solutions presentations
  • Consistently stay up to date on L&D industry trends, with a focus on keeping Ardent’s solution offerings best-in-class and ensuring Marketing and Business Development have the information they need to sell those services
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • At least 10 years experience working in client learning solutions with the proven ability to design and develop across a variety of industries
  • At least 5-7 years of proven experience working in Instructional Design and instructional technologies (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, and other authoring tools)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience creating or significantly contributing to proposal development of proposals
  • Successful experience in relationship management across a range of external clients
  • Experience working within learning and content management system(s)
  • Experience with tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline, as well as other eLearning authoring tools
  • A collaborative leadership approach focused on alignment, action and accountability
  • The ability to demonstrate the relationship between effective learning and organizational performance
  • A propensity and curiousity for innovative ideas and solutions
  • A global business mindset paired with learning industry knowledge
  • Exceptional interpersonal and consultative skills
  • A high level of comfort presenting and selling your designs to various audiences
  • Expertise in a variety of technologies (including Ed Tech), user experience design and delivery modalities
  • An understanding and appreciation for strong creative and its impact on user experience
  • A keen awareness for the modern classroom and effective facilitation techniques
  • A client-centric approach fueled by healthy urgency and timely responsiveness to requests
  • Capable of seeing “the big picture” goals of our clients and aligning the steps necessary to get there
